⌘K reads as opening, and connections become a grid
The command palette enters like something opening rather than appearing, its search field takes the prompter's shape, and the connections list becomes a grid of cards.
The palette used to cross-fade in. A cross-fade says a thing changed; an open says a thing arrived over what you were looking at, and can be reversed by closing it. The palette now opens, and it carries the app's own curve while it does.
Its search field is the prompter's shape at palette size, so the two places you type into Realm are visibly the same kind of surface.
Connections were a list of rows carrying three lines each, which is a list of cards written as rows. They are now cards, in a grid, and the rules between them came off. A card's fill already separates it from its neighbour, and a rule says so a second time.
The edge fades throughout the renderer learned when not to appear. A fade over a list that fits is a gradient announcing content that is not there.
